Cavender Buick GMC West Maintenance Tips

We care about you and the health of your vehicle. Below we have created a few tips for keeping your vehicle in great shape.

The two main important services you can do to maintain your vehicle are regular oil and filter changes. Check your owner’s manual to determine which oil type should be used. Don’t have time to do your oil change yourself? Allow us to do it!

There are several different filters that should be checked changed on your vehicle if needed. These include:

  • Oil filters
  • Air filter
  • Fuel filters
  • Transmission fluid filters
  • And PCV Filters

Many new vehicles include an Oil life indicator. In older vehicles it was recommended to change your oil around every 3000 miles. This new device is used to measure the life of your oil by not only the mileage, but also the conditions. Once your oil starts to go bad the (OLI) will let you know when it’s getting close to replacing. It is still smart to manually check your oil on occasion with this system.

Tire Pressure

It is important to check your tire pressure monthly. Having to much or to little air in your tires can cause:

  • Un-even Wear
  • Un-efficient gas mileage
  • Blow-out
  • Reduce the lifetime

You can purchase an inexpensive air gauge for around 10 dollars from just about anywhere. Wondering what your tire pressure should be? Check your owner’s manual.

Tire rotation

Tire rotation should be performed around every 4,500 miles. This will ensure that your tires evenly wear, and will result in smoother ride. It also ensures that you get the longest life possible out of your tires.
